Philadelphia Flyers/Buffalo Sabres Playoff Preview Part 4: Coaches | Get Flyer'd Up

Heading into the 1st round of the playoffs, both the head coach of theFlyers, Peter Laviolette and head coach of the Sabres, Lindy Ruff, have impressive resumes.

Peter Laviolette has his name on Lord Stanley’s Cup and has competed for another. Lindy Ruff is the longest tenured head coach in the NHL, he’s been behind the bench in Buffalo since 1997.

Peter Laviolette was hired last season after the Flyers fired then head coach John Stevens nearly mid-way through the season. At the time that Laviolette took over the orange and black, they were sitting in 14th place in the East. A few months later, they were contending for a Stanley Cup. Laviolette breathed new life into the Flyers and helped turn them into one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season.
