Philadelphia Flyers Lose Game 1 to Buffalo Sabres 1-0, Power Play and Urgency Must Improve | Get Flyer'd Up
The biggest question coming into Game 1 between the Flyers and Sabres, had to be whether or not the Flyers would be able to “flip the switch.” The answer to that question was, yes, the Flyers played a very good game against the Sabres, it just wasn’t enough.
The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Flyers 1-0, behind 35 saves by Ryan Miller, who posted his second-career shutout (both against PHI.) The lone goal was scored by Patrick Kaleta.
The Flyers controlled the pace, nearly the entire game. The Flyers had plenty of shots (35) and plenty of opportunites on the power play (5.) Only, they didn’t score on any of their power plays (0-5) nor did they score on any of their 35 shots.
