Jay Cutler: Benching Bears QB and More Wise Week 11 Fantasy Choices

With Week 11 of the NFL season set to begin shortly, it’s time to check the matchups, read some injury reports and set your fantasy lineup. There’s been numerous personnel changes following Week 10—especially at the QB position—for quite a few teams. It’s imperative that you pay attention to these latest happenings around the league in order to stay up on information that will impact your fantasy squad. Let’s take a look at some recent occurrences that owners must factor in when adjusting their starting roster for Week 11.   Jay Cutler Too RiskyThe Chicago Bears have an extremely tough matchup on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers. However, the Bears still haven’t announced whether or not starting QB Jay Cutler will be active in the contest after sustaining a concussion in Week 10 against the Houston Texans. Due to the uncertain nature of concussion recoveries, coupled with how strong the Niners defensive unit is, there is absolutely no way you should risk having Cutler in your fantasy lineup. There are plenty of other quarterback options to go with off the waiver wire in Week 11, including Ryan Fitzpatrick, Sam Bradford and even Nick Foles. Speaking of the Eagles rookie…   Bench Michael Vick Foles is reportedly getting practice reps with the Philadelphia Eagles first-team offense (via ESPN) and is widely expected to start on Sunday against the Washington Redskins.Vick suffered a nasty concussion last week against the Dallas Cowboys, and Foles took over in the second quarter. While he wasn’t a fantasy machine, he did connect with Jeremy Maclin on a 44-yard TD pass and completed 22 of 32 pass attempts for 219 yards. With that being said, Foles also lost a fumble and tossed an interception—mistakes that should be expected from the first-year signal-caller. With Vick more than likely out, anyone still starting him in fantasy needs to move him to the bench and claim Foles off waivers. There’s a good chance he winds up starting the remainder of the 2012 campaign.   Dump Fred Jackson For those of you who have Fred Jackson in your lineup, go to your fantasy site and immediately remove him.The Buffalo Bills are squaring off tonight with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football and the starting RB has been officially ruled out. After a solid 80-yard, two-TD performance on the ground against the New England Patriots, the sixth-year man out of Coe College was concussed by Patriots LB Brandon Spikes at the very end of the game. C.J. Spiller is set to get the nod as the starter in this upcoming contest, and should be in line for a number of touches with Jackson ineligible to enter the game. Read more NFL news on BleacherReport.com 517 days
