D-Backs announcer Joe Garagiola calls it a career
Garagiola, the longtime baseball personality and color analyst announced his retirement from the game in a press conference at Salt River Fields on Wednesday. The 87-year-old had been an announcer since 1955 when he took his first job with the St. Louis Cardinals. Before that, Garagiola had an eight-year big league career as a catcher with the Cardinals, Pirates, Cubs and Giants. 91 days
